Abstract

Boron-doped diamond (BDD) film substrate was modifed with TiO2 nanorodby a hydrothermal method. TiO2/BDD composite was further encapsulated in epoxy resin to prepare the electrode. The morphology and phase of TiO2/BDD composite materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. A reactive brilliant red X-3B dye wastewater was degraded by TiO2/BDD composite electrode under different conditions. The results show that the morphology of TiO2 is nanobeam due to the aggregation of nanorods. The nanorods of TiO2 are uniform and dense in rutile phase, which are closed to the BDD film. Compared to the photo-catalysis of TiO2 and electrochemical oxidation of BDD electrode, the photoelectric catalysis of the composite electrode can further enhance the degradation rate of reactive brilliant red X-3B.
