Research method of the splash character of prismatic planing craft

Abstract
To study the splash phenomenon in planing craft, in this study, we used the CFD software FINE/MA-RINE to perform numerical simulations of prismatic planing craft under different lateral deadrise angles at the bot-tom and different speeds.Into this self-programmed post-processing program,we imported fluidic characteristics in-formation about the hull surface,including the velocity field,pressure field,and water phase volume fraction.This program regenerates unstructured grids for the space coordinates of the hull node and automatically determines the splashing conditions and identifies the shape of the hull splash zone and its spray resistance(including the friction and pressure resistances to splash).The results show that our proposed splash processing method can solve the re-sistance increment problem of high-performance ships, which is caused by strong nonlinearities such as a broken free surface and splash.Moreover,it lays a foundation for better understanding the internal mechanism and splash-proof structure of high-speed planing crafts.关键词
