Abnormality of the Imagination about the Future Self and Others in Depressive People
摘要
Abstract
The present study discussed the abnormal future imagination toward others in depressive people for the first time,and focused on the prepare time and duration period for the future imagination.Two groups of participations were enrolled:the depressive group and the non-depressive group.Twenty positive future events and 20 negative future events following a subject entitled either"I"(the"self"condition)or"Zhou Xiao"(the"other"condition)were presented to the participants.They were required to imagine the given events and gave evaluations:what was the possibility that the given events would happen to themselves or others(i.e.,"Zhou Xiao"),how vivid when they imagined the given events,what was the emotional feeling when they experienced the events in the future and to what extent the event was self-related with themselves.The results showed that the depressive people exhibited significantly different expectancy between the self and other condition in the duration period of the future imagination and the possibility estimation of the future events.The current findings had important implications for the interpretation of depression.关键词
