Market Competition and Network Investment in China's Telecommunications Industry-Empirical Study from the Perspective of Non-dominant Operators
摘要
Abstract
This paper collects the latest data of 31 provincial panel data from 2009 to 2016,and uses fixed effects and dynamic panel data models to reveal the relationship between market competition and the network investment from the perspective of non-dominant operators. The results show that there is a significant positive correlation between market competition intensity and network investment of non-dominant operators,which is different from previous researches that under the state-owned property rights system,the soft constraint of budgets in the domestic telecommunication operators makes the market concentration positively correlated with the industry network investment. However,the investment behaviour of non-dominant operators is in line with the rational choice of the competitive market subject. The conclusion of this paper has important policy implications for accelerating the implementation of the strategy of strengthening the nation by network and building a first-class information infrastructure.关键词
