The roles of microRNAs in common reproductive disorders
摘要
Abstract
microRNAs (miRNAs) are short (-22 nucleotides) noncoding RNA molecules that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally.Numerous studies have demonstrated that miRNAs participate in many physiological and pathological processes,including cell proliferation,differentiation,apoptosis,and hormone biosynthesis;and also in human diseases such as neurological disorders,tumors and diabetes.The development of follicles is a complex process determining female fertility and dysregulation of this process may cause polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and premature ovarian insufficiency (POI),and ultimately leads to female infertility.This review focused on recent advances in miRNAs' expression and their potential mechanisms in follicle development,PCOS and POI.An improved understanding of the miRNAs in folliculogenesis may shed light on new strategies for follicular biology and reproductive disorders.关键词
