Performance optimization of waterborne UV-curable wood surface finish using silane coupling agent

Abstract
Waterborne UV wood coating is a new type of water based coating which combines the traditional water based coatings and the UV curing coating. Compared with the traditional UV wood coatings,the modified coating has many advantages such as good scratch resistance,chemical resistance,flexibility. However,there are many deficien?cies of waterborne UV curable wood coatings. Therefore, the silane coupling agent KH560 was used to modify the mechanical,optical and color performance of waterborne UV?curable wood surface finish,aiming at improving water?borne UV?curable coatings. The results showed that the coating hardness and adhesion reached H and 1 classes, re?spectively,on the conditions of 1.5 g fixed finish and 3% KH560,and under40℃ temperature in the baking oven for 10 min,wherein the UV lamps were three and the radiation time was 1 min.The waterborne UV curable wood coating performance in the single bean wood substrate was good,at the same time it has the sub light effect and the minimum color difference. If the increase in KH560 content in topcoat continued,the wood coating adhesion was constant,the hardness firstly increased and then decreased,and the gloss and color difference increased.关键词
