Abstract

The Comoros,and Sri Lanka Ylangyl ang accessions were used as the materials to evaluate the difference of characteristic aroma compounds.The aromatic profile of different genotypes can provide a theoretical foundation for future breeding program.Headspace solid-phase microextraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS) were used to analyze the aromatic profile of different Ylangylang accessions.Results showed that the aroma compositions were grouped as hydrocarbons,esters,alcohols and aldehydes in the two different Ylangylang accessions.The main compounds was geranyl acetate (14.83%),benzyl benzoate (14.56%),geranyl benzoate (1.24%),and benzyl salicylate (4.65%) in Comoros Ylangylang accession,but the main compounds was (Z,E)-α-farnesene (45.67%),β-cubebene (17.61%),linalool (2.87%),and 3-carene (2.71%) in Sri Lanka Ylangylang accession.Through the analysis above,we can see that the different genotypes of Ylangylang have the same aroma groups,but there have differet compositions and contents.These results would provide references in breeding new Ylangylang variety as well as exploiting outstanding Ylangylang germplasm in the future.
