Process and Characterization of Zeolite FAU Transformed from Fly Ash-based Geopolymer via Hydrothermal Reaction

Abstract
Self-supporting zeolite FAU was synthesized from fly ash-based geopolymer via in-situ hydrothermal method.The effects of various factors, such as hydrothermal temperature, crystallization time,concentration and volume of sodium hydroxide(NaOH)on the crystallinity of zeolite FAU were investigated.Optimal conditions for the synthesis zeolite FAU from fly ash based geopolymer were determined to be:temperature 100 ℃, curing time,18 h in the 50 mL of 2.0 mol/L NaOH solution. The optimum zeolite FAU block show an octahedral shape with good crystallinity and basically inherited the main skeletal structure of geopolymer through XRD,SEM and FTIR analysis.The compress strength of zeolite FAU is 18.8 MPa with specific surface area of 175.31 m2/g.The in-situ hydrothermal method is a facile,environment-friendly method for the preparation of self-supporting zeolite.Moreover,different type of zeolites can be synthesized by controlling the raw material compositions and reaction conditions.关键词
