Effects of composition on combustion property of carbonaceous heat source material

Abstract
In order to investigate the influences of composition on combustion property of carbonaceous heat source material(CHSM), a series of CHSM with different compositions were prepared by an internal mixer, and their combustion properties were characterized by a synchronous thermal analyzer(STA)and a self-made burning rate meter. The results showed that: 1)The type of carbon powder affected the mass loss process of combustion; carbon powder with smaller particle size combusted more easily. Calcium carbonate delayed both the starting point and whole process of combustion, and approached to the ending point of combustion earlier. Graphite powder with small particle size(500 mesh,25 μm)delayed and accelerated the mass loss at low and high temperature stages, respectively. However, graphite powder with large size(150 mesh,106 μm) hindered the whole mass loss process of combustion. Nano-Fe2O3, nano-montmorillonite and potassium salt in CHSM postponed the mass loss process of combustion at higher temperature. Potassium salt accelerated the mass loss at low temperature stage, while sodium salt was on the contrary. 2)The combustion rate of CHSM was effectively promoted by the addition of small size carbon powder and oxidative combustion promoter, while reduced to different extents by the addition of calcium carbonate, graphite powder, non-oxidative potassium and sodium salt, nano-Fe2O3and nano-montmorillonite, especially nano-montmorillonite.关键词
