Thermal stresses of polar orthotropic FGM hollow sphere with arbitrary gradient

Abstract
Thermo-elastic problem of polar orthotropic functionally graded hollow sphere is investigated.Different from previous studies,the thermal mechanical properties are assumed arbitrary function vary along the radial direction.Substituting the hoop stress and radial displacement with radial stress into the equilibrium equation,we can obtain the Fredholm integral equation about the radial stress.Then,the numerical solution of thermal stresses in polar orthotropic functionally graded hollow sphere can be obtained by calculating the Fredholm integral equation.The correctness of the Fredholm integral method are investigated by comparing the numerical solutions with the analytic solution as power-law model.The influences of material gradient index and orthotropic degree on the thermal stress fields are analyzed.The results show that:For given functionally graded hollow sphere subjected by thermal loads,the maximum value of thermal stresses increases with the decrease of gradient index and increase of orthotropic degree.Changing the distribution of material properties can make the internal structure thermal stress uniformity and reduce the overall thermal stresses.关键词
