Plasma homocysteine levels of patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy in different stages and its clinical significance

Abstract
Objective To analyze the plasma homocysteine(Hcy) levels of patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy in different stages and its clinical significance.Methods Ninety-six patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy were divided into group A (normal albuminuria stage,n =30),group B (early diabetic nephropathy stage,n =30) and group C (clinical diabetic nephropathy stage,n =36).The levels of plasma Hcy,P-selectin,yon Willebrand's factor(vWF) and fibrinogen were compared among the three groups.The correlation of plasma Hcy level with P-selectin,vWF or fibrinogen level was analyzed.Results The Hcy,vWF and fibrinogen levels of group C were higher than those of group A and group B (P ＜ 0.05).The P-selectin level of group C was higher than that of group A (P ＜ 0.05).The Hcy level positively correlated with P-selectin,vWF and fibrinogen levels in the patients with diabetic nephropathy (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Hcy may play an important role in promoting the progression of diabetic nephropathy,which probably relates to endothelial dysfunction-induced renal injury due to hyperhomecysteinemia.关键词
