On the Hong Zan's Works of Buddhist Temperament and DingHu FaHui's Compiling Process
摘要
Abstract
Hongzan,a Chan master lived in Qing Yun temple located on Mount Ding Hu in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province,in late Ming and early Qing,devoted his whole life to the theoretical research and popularizing practice of Buddhist temperament.For his considerable works,remarkable achievements and advanced status,he got the reputation as"the most significant interpreter of temperament in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces"and was taken as the defined person of Chinese temperament by the later genera-tions.His knowledge came from the earlier tradition of Daoxuan in Tang and the later inference of Yunqi Zhuhong.All of his works had separate editions and then were compiled to a collection,Dinghu Fahui. The compiling of Dinghu Fahui related to Cheng Jiu's Dinghushan Zhi,which had considerable influence on the reorganization of Qing Yun temple rituals and improving its cultural confidence.As the theoretical ba-sis of Dinghu disciplines,many monographs in Dinghu Fahui had profound impact on Guangdong and Guangxi provinces and even in the whole Chinese Buddhist circles.关键词
