Abstract

In this paper,the generation mechanism and physical phenomena of the off-line arc electro-magnetic interference were firstly analyzed from the theoretical point of view.Then,the laboratory experi-ment was carried out to study the characteristics of the arc radiated noise,and the electromagnetic signals of the off-line arc of the pantograph-catenary system were received by an antenna.Next,the contact re-sistance magnitude between the copper rod and the pure carbon strip was discussed.Finally,a fast Fourier transform was carried out on electromagnetic radiation pulse,which transformed the electromagnetic signal from time domain to frequency domain.The analysis shows that the electromagnetic radiation produced by the off-line arc of the pantograph-catenary system is a strong pulse signal with a short duration and wide spectrum range.
