Correlation between Self-leadership and Learning Engagement in 213 Nursing Interns

Abstract
Objective To investigate the current status of self-leadership and learning engagement of nursing interns and explore their correlation. Methods A convenient sampling method was adopted and nursing interns in a class Ⅲ gradeⅠhospital in September 2017 were enrolled and investigated by using the general information questionnaire,self-leadership rating scale and learning engagement scale-student. Results The score of self-leadership and learning engagement of nursing interns was 136.55 ±16.05 and 72.15 ±10.68 respectively. There was a close positive correlation between learning engagement and the total score of self-leadership (r=0.682, P<0.01). Conclusion The score of nursing interns' self-leadership and learning engagement is at a moderate level, and the two are positively correlated with each other. It is suggested that nursing educators and managers should improve their traditional teaching methods, help nursing interns to develop learning objectives and clinical practice plans and enhance nursing interns'self-leadership and learning engagement.关键词
