Abstract
Objective To investigate the short-term effect of endovenous laser therapy combined with local vein stripping surgery in the treatment of varicose veins of the lower limbs.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of 298 patients (439 limbs) with great saphenous varicose veins who underwent endovenous laser therapy combined with local vein stripping surgery.Results All patients were satisfied with their outcome after surgery,with the disappearance of varices and significant improvement in swelling and weakness of the lower limbs after walk.All incisions achieved primary healing without infection,and no patient experienced deep venous thrombosis in the lower limbs or pulmonary embolism.Of all patients,200 experienced varying degrees of skin ecchymosis after surgery,no special treatment was given,and such symptom disappeared at 1-2 weeks after surgery;33 experienced numbness and sensory disturbance of the skin at the lower segment of the calf and the inner side of the ankle,and 3 experienced permanent damage;41 still had the sense of weakness after walk,which was alleviated with the help of medical compression stocking;7 had numbness of the incision at the calf;5 had active ulcer and were given dressing change regularly after surgery,and the symptom was cured after 1-3 months.The patients were followed up for 1-42 months after surgery,and the overall recurrence rate was 5.24％.One patient died of lung cancer during follow-up.Conclusion Endovenous laser therapy combined with local vein stripping surgery is a minimally invasive and safe treatment for varicose veins of the lower limbs and has a good short-term clinical effect.关键词
