Abstract
Objective:To observe the effect of electroacupuncture at Jiaji points combined with rehabilitation training on the lower extremities motor function after incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI).Methods:84 eligible patients with incomplete SCI were randomized into controlled group and combined group,42 cases in each group. The patients in the controlled group were intervened with rehabilitation training, while the patients in the combined group were received with rehabilitation training plus electroacupuncture at Jiaji points for treatment.Electro-acupuncture treatment was performed once to each patient per day and ten times served as one course. After four courses finished, the improvements of motor and sensory functions, walking ability and activities of daily living (ADL) were compared before and after the treatment, and then therapeutic efficiencies were evaluated. Results:After the treatment, the motor and sensory functions, walking ability and ADL were improved in both groups.Especially, the improvements of motor and sensory functions, walking ability and ADL in the combined group were better than those in the controlled group.Therapeutic efficiency of the controlled group was only 64.29% whereas the combined group was 88.10%,which showed there was an obvious difference between the controlled group and the combined group by statistics analysis (P < 0.05).Conclusion:The electro-acupuncture at Jiaji points combined with rehabilitation training for incomplete SCI,which can improve the recovery of lower extremities motor function,is considered to obtain a better therapeutic efficiency.关键词
