Degradation of toluene waste gas by dielectric barrier discharge plasma

Abstract
In order to study the volatile organic compounds removal in non-thermal plasma,the degradation of toluene exhaust gas is carried out by dielectric barrier discharge.The effects of discharge power and gas flow rate on toluene removal rate and energy efficiency are studied,and those of produced ozone on the reaction process are also examined.And the plasma characteris-tics are analyzed by spectroscopy.The results show that increasing the energy density of plas-ma and discharge power and reducing the gas flow can improve the removal efficiency of tolu-ene,but the energy efficiency of the reaction is gradually reduced and the energy loss in the re-action process increases.The concentration of ozone generated during the reaction is positively correlated with the toluene removal rate.The generation of ozone coincides with the degrada-tion of toluene.The decomposition of ozone facilitates the degradation of toluene.Oxygen plas-ma characteristic lines consist of OⅡlines,OⅢlines and OⅣspectral lines,and the intensity is enhanced with increasing power.关键词
