Dose-response Relationship between Physical Activity and Serum Uric Acid and Its Sex-specific Difference among Chinese Middle-aged People
摘要
Abstract
Objective To explore the dose-response relationship between physical activity(PA) and serum uric acid(SUA) and its sex-specific difference in Chinese middle-aged people. Methods Using cluster sampling,we recruited the residents from Meiyili and Fengnanli communities in Tangshan city aged between 40 and 60 years old from 2011 to 2013.PA level was assessed by the International Physical Activity Questionnaires.SUA level was measured using GOD-POD method.Elevated SUA level was defined as>416μmol/L in male,and>357μmol/L in female.Participants were divided into 5 groups according to the dose-response relationship of PA and SUA assessed by restricted cubic spline(RCS).Unconditional Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the association between PA and SUA.Results A total of 8 305 participants were enrolled, including 3 117(37.5%) males and 5 188(62.5%) females.Nonlinear relationship was found for PA and SUA by the nonlinearity test(P=0.007).Participants were divided into 5 PA groups:<175.7 MET-min/week(n=2 089),175.7-385.7 MET-min/week(n=2 060),385.8-635.5 MET-min/week(n=1 649),635.6-1 500.0 MET-min/week(n=1 573),>1 500.0 MET-min/week(n=934).Compared to reference group(385.8-635.5 MET-min/week),participants with PA>1500.0 MET-min/week had an increased risk for elevated SUA[OR=1.47,95%CI(1.09,1.93)];males presented an increased risk for elevated SUA [OR=1.68,95%CI(1.14,2.48)].However,no significant increased risks were found in females. Conclusion PA was non-linearly associated with elevated SUA.Higher PA was associated with an increased risk for elevated SUA in males.关键词
