Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical features, etiological factors and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) classification of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI).Methods Total of 160 patients with PEI confirmed by C13 breath test were collected. The patients' gender, age, related causes of disease, clinical manifestation and combined diseases were compared, and each patient was given TCM syndrome differentiation. Results PEI patients were at the peak age of 41~60 years old, including 44.2% of drinkers,42.8% and 20.2% of cigarette smokers and biliary tract diseases respectively.Abdominal pain was the most important symptom, accounting for 80% of the total number, followed by diarrhea, accounting for 50%,47% of abdominal distention,41% of anorexia, and 33% of weight loss.In all PEI patients,66% of the patients had intestinal flora imbalance,76% had chronic gastritis and 40% had cholestasis.TCM syndrome differentiation showed that the spleen and stomach deficiency type accounted for 93 % of the total number, and the spleen deficiency scale score and the C13-exocrine pancreas Cum value were tested by the normality test. Conclusion In PEI patients, alcohol consumption was the leading cause of morbidity, followed by smoking and biliary tract disease.Abdominal pain is the most common clinical manifestation, followed by diarrhea, abdominal distension, anorexia, and weight loss.More than half of them suffer from chronic gastritis and intestinal flora imbalance. There was a linear negative correlation between the scores of spleen deficiency symptoms and the C13-exocrine pancreatic Cum values.关键词
