A New Power Electronic Transformation Technology for Single-Phase/Three-Phase

Abstract
This paper studies a novel splitting phase topology based on three-phase full-bridge inverter, which resembles the topology of traditional three-phase full-bridge inverter except for the direct connection of its two-phase output with the two terminals of the single-phase power source. Its operating principles are as follows: single-phase power source first charges the DC capacitor through three-phase full-bridge inverter in a small time period. After the voltage of the DC capacitor achieves stability, three-phase full-bridge inverter can output three-phase symmetrical AC voltage. This paper took the advantage of the power balance method and Kirchhoff's law to analyze the single-phase to three-phase circuit, and then deduced the output current expression of the inverter when three-phase load side gets symmetrical voltage. PSCAD/EMTDC simulation platform and experiment verified the circuit topology, the result shows that the proposed circuit topology enables single-phase to three-phase conversion, and the power relationship as well as the current relationship are the same with the derived expressions, which proves the validity of the analytical method.关键词
