Research on the Spatial Features of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Urban Agglomeration after the Establishment of the Xiong'an New Area

Abstract
The establishment of the Xiong'an New Area is a historic and strategic choice for the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH), which is bound to have an impact on the BTH urban agglomeration. This paper uses grey prediction method to predict the population and GDP of BTH urban area in 2022, and, through the urban primacy, the population Gini coefficient, the Herfindahl-Hirschman index, the Zipf dimension, the geographical contact rate, the economic contact intensity and so on, investigates the spatial distribution characteristics of urban agglomeration population scale and the spatial characteristics of economic connection intensity. Empirical research shows that: the establishment of the Xiong'an New Area is conducive to the balanced distribution of population size in BTH urban agglomeration, and improves the overall economic link strength of BTH urban agglomeration, and promotes the construction of core area of BTH urban agglomeration. This paper then puts forward some suggestions on the construction of the Xiong'an New Area and the coordinated development of the BTH urban agglomeration from the aspects that we should correctly grasp the regional function orientation of the construction of the Xiong'an New Area, innovate the benefit sharing mechanism among regions, promote the integration of BTH urban agglomeration, ensure the synchronization of transfer, undertaking and construction.关键词
