Effect of Duhuo Jisheng decoction combined with acupuncture on erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C- reactive protein and joint function in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of Duhuo Jisheng decoction combined with acupuncture on erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C- reactive protein and joint function in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods 94 patients with rheumatoid arthritis admitted in our hospital from May 2016 to May 2017 were divided into the observation group and the control group. The control group was treated with acupuncture treatment, the observation group was treated with Duhuo Jisheng decoction in combination.The effects of two groups were compared before and after treatment, including joint pain, joint swelling, joint tenderness, pressure pain, swelling and VAS score, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C- reactive protein level. Results The total effective rate of the observation group (93.62%) was higher than that of the control group (74.47%) (P< 0.05). The scores of joint pain, joint swelling and joint pressure pain were reduced in the two groups (P<0.05), and the observation group was lower than that of the control group (P< 0.05). The number of pressure pain, swelling and VAS scores were decreased in the two groups (P<0.05), and the observation group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C- reactive protein levelwere decreased in the two groups (P< 0.05), and the observation group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Duhuo Jisheng decoction combined with acupuncture can reduce erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C- reactive protein and improve the joint function of the rheumatoid arthritis patients.关键词
