An Analysis of Differentially Expressed Genes in Dopaminergic Neurons in Parkinson's Disease
摘要
Abstract
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disease, affecting a vast population. Here, the data involving both gene expression and DNA methylation were analyzed from dopaminergic cells in PD.Genes with different expression levels or DNA methylation levels were identified, and a correlation between those genes and PD was revealed.Genes associated with formation and elongation of microtubule, including SLAIN1,TA GLN3 and TUBB2B,were up-regulated,whereas those related to innate immune system, such as LY96,were down-regulated.Surprisingly,SCG5,which is involved in immune response for PD,was upregulated. In addition,DNA methylation was found to be highly activated near the transcription start sites.Besides its function in gene transcription,DNA methylation with a high level may cause conformational changes of chromatin structure through affecting PRC1 and PcG complexes. Moreover, those genes may be involved in regulation of axon guidance, neuronal differentiation, migration, intracellular trafficking and other functions. The results provide new insights into better understanding of molecular mechanisms in PD.关键词
