摘要

Abstract

The material is transported to the central zone and spread on top of the material al ready in large-scale enclosed flat-bottomed silo by the screw conveyor until the silo is totally discharged.A silo can store both cohesive and free flowing materials,such as potato starch,flyash,coal and gypsum.Significant benefit of efficient and flexible space utilization and air pollution prevention is thas realized.In this paper,in situation of free flowing and discharging as sisted by screw conveyer,granular material flowing velocity in flat-bottomed silo was simulated by EDEM.Analysis results show that greater effect of the screw conveyor on the velocity of particle occurs at the wall,while no effect occurs for particle at the middle.The nearer to the screw conveyor,the greater velocity fluctuation is.Particle flowing regime is funnel flow.
