新疆哈萨克羊和阿勒泰羊多脊椎性状分析
Analysis of the characteristics of poly-spinal variations in Kazak and Altay sheep

Abstract
The vertebral variation in animals,especially poly-spinal variation,is an important trait associated with their production performance.In order to provide reference for breeding high-quality and high-yield new multi-vertebral Xinjiang sheep,we calculated the quantity and proportion of thoracic vertebrae (T) and lumbar spine (L) of 569 Kazak sheep and 218 Altay sheep after slaughter and found six spinal variations:T13L7,T14L6,T14L5,T12L6,T12L7 and T14L7,in the Kazakh sheep,and five spinal variations:T13L7,T14L6,T14L5,T12L6 and T12L7,in the Altay sheep.Of all these variations,T13L7,T14L6 and T14L7 were polygonal,accounting for 26.01% of the Kazak sheep and 23.39% of the Altay sheep,respectively.Analysis of the performance of the Kazakh sheep showed that their carcass length and carcass weight increased by 2.86 cm and 1.94 kg,and 1.88 cm and 1.56 kg,respectively;and their multi-thoracic traits were superior to multi-lumbar traits.To sum up,poly-spinal variation is quite popular in Kazak and Aletai sheep.Compared with the Kazakh sheep,the Altay sheep are more inclined to poly-thoracic vertebrae,which is an important scientific reference for the breeding of high-yield and high-quality multi-spinal lines of Kazak and Altay sheep.关键词
