Abstract

The Y-style and K-style spiral tube heat exchangers are two types of heat exchangers with dif-ferent inlet and outlet structures on the tube and shell side,on which comparison researches were carried out on water-water vapor heat transfer performance by experiment method.In the experiment,the volume flow of water vapor on tube side is kept constant,and Re of the water on the shell side is adjusted to be 2800~13000.The experimental results show that,within the experiment range and under the condition of same Re,the Y-style spiral tube heat exchanger has a bigger total heat transfer coefficient,lower shell-side pressure drop and higher shell-side convective heat transfer coefficient,their max.values are 17.9%big-ger,61% lower and 11.6% higher than the K-style,respectively;with the K-style spiral tube heat ex-changer as the reference,the comprehensive heat transfer assessment factor PEC of the Y-style spiral tube heat exchanger is all bigger than 1 within the range of Re for the experiment,indicating the comprehensive heat transfer performance of the Y-style spiral tube heat exchanger is always better than that of the K-style spiral tube heat exchanger.
