Abstract
Objective To compare the influence of indirect method Geramage polymeric porcelain veneer restoration and direct method light curing resin veneer restorationon periodontal related index. Methods A toatl of 82 patients (a total of 222 teeth) for prescription of the live pulp front teeth were selected, and divided into observation group (41 patients, 118 teeth) and control group (41 patients, 104 teeth) according to random number table method. The observation group was treated with indirect method Geramage polymeric porcelain veneer restoration, and the control group was treated with direct method light curing resin veneer restoration. The integrity, edge coloring, color matching with neighboring teeth, edge suitability, dental pulp state and abutment sensitivity of restorations, the plaque index (PI), gingival index (GI),depth of gingival sagittal (PD), gingival crevicular fluid volume (GCF), interleukin-1α (IL-1α) in gingival crevicular fluid at 1 year after repair were compared between two groups. Results There were no significant difference in the success rate of the integrity, dental pulp state and abutment sensitivity of restorations at 1 year after repair in two groups (P>0.05). The success rate of edge coloring, color matching with neighboring teeth, edge suitability were 97.46%, 98.31% and 97.46%, respectively, which were significantly higher than 91.35%, 90.38%, 89.42% in the control group (P<0.05).The score of PI, GI and the levels of GCF and IL-1α were (1.30±0.5 7),(0.09±0.11),(1.87±0.57) mg, (69.32±8.17) ng/ml, which were significantly lower than (1.48±0.6), (0.32±0.14), (2.35±0.69)mg,(75.03±7.65) ng/ml in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The indirect method Geramage polymeric porcelain veneer restoration can better reproduce natural tooth shape,smooth surface, color and stability, with the adjacent tooth color match,the edge of a good fit. And less prone to edge micro-infiltration, to avoid edge staining and plaque accumulation,the gums and periodontal tissue health was more favorable.关键词
