Abstract
Objective To find a more effective and accurate way of three-dimensional finite element modeling by innovatively taking advantage of an intraoral digital scanner.Methods Prepared tooth was scanned by the intraoral digital scanner Trios and CBCT to get the imaging data.The restoration surface model was designed and made in CAD system;the tooth surface model was established in Mimics 10.0;the two models were integrated into a entity model in ANSYS 14.0.Results On the basis of the data collected by the intraoral digital scanner and CBCT,we constructed a three-dimensional finite element model of a mandibular first molar restored by endocrown with high imitation and high accuracy,with 25776 grids and 44728 nodes.The deviation between the finite element model and the natural tooth was-0.28% and-0.27%,which was equal to or even less than the deviation previously documented.Conclusion By introducing the intraoral digital scanner into the three-dimensional finite element research,an innovative modeling method is found,which greatly simplifies the traditional modeling steps and effectively reduces the data loss during the modeling process and the errors caused by the human factors.The geometric similarity between the model and the natural tooth in this study is very high,and the accuracy and versatility are superior to those of the traditional modeling methods,which lays a solid foundation for the follow-up finite element analysis.关键词
