Numerical Analysis on the Shear Behavior of Elliptical Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Members

Abstract
In order to study the shear behavior and failure mechanism of elliptical concrete-filled steel tubular (ECFST) members,a numerical analysis model of ECFST members subjected to shear is built on the long and short axis respectively using ABAQUS software.This paper studies the failure modes of ECFST members in pure shear state,and focuses on the parameters analysis on the shear behavior of the ECFST members.The parameters influencing the shear strength of ECFST members are analyzed on the long and short axis respectively,including shear span ratio,steel and concrete strength,diameter thickness ratio,long short axis ratio and section area.The results indicate that according to different shear span ratios,the failure modes can be divided into shear failure,bending failure and bendingshear failure.The shear bearing capacity of ECFST members increases with steel strength,concrete strength,sectional area and steel ratio,but decreases with higher shear span ratio or longer short axis.The results in this paper can be used as a reference for future design of ECFST members.关键词
