摘要

Abstract

In order to satisfy the practical demands related to architectural function and seismic performance upgrading of existing masonry buildings,adding post-installed reinforced concrete members at the external original masonry wall was proposed,such that a new type of composite wall was created.The reliability of the connector was a key factor ensuring cooperative work between the masonry wall and reinforced concrete members,and therefore influenced the effectiveness of the seismic strengthening strategy.Building on the existing experimental work examining the low-cycle behavior of small scale walls,four longitudinal real scale composite walls were designed and produced with complete embedded bars according to the real construction procedure.Cyclic loading experiments were conducted on the four specimens,where the ultimate load bearing capacity,ductility,hysteresis characteristic,energy dissipation capacity,damage pattern and the strains of the post-installed reinforced concrete members and steel bars were tested and analyzed.The composite walls connected with embedded bars are shown to have relatively high load carrying capacity,deformability,and compatibility,which means effective seismic performance upgrading.It is implied that the connectors can be considered as complete embedded ones.
