Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of mineral trioxide aggregate(MTA)in the treatment of permanent in-cisors with open apex.Methods:Thirty-one incisors with open apex were selected,and the apex root areas were filled with MTA under microscope to form 4 mm thick apical barriers.One week later,the crowns and root canals were filled.Therapeutic effect was evaluated 6 months after the filling.Results:The effective rate was 96.77%(30/31)on a follow-up examination 6 months after the treatment. No significant difference between over obturation and adequate obturation was observed(P >0.05).Conclusion:Mineral trioxide aggregate as apical barrier material is effective in the treatment of permanent incisors with open apex,and over obturation with little MTA will not affect the prognosis.关键词
