Prediction and prevention measures of rock burst in No.4 construction adit of Qinling Water Conveyance Tunnel for Hanjiang-to-Weihe River Valley Water Diversion Project

Abstract

Qinling Water Conveyance Tunnel is deeply buried and rock bursts frequently occur therein during its excavation.In order to lower the injuries from rock burst to the relevant personnel and equipment,the micro-seismic monitoring technology developed by Dalian University of Technology is introduced into the excavation of the No.4 construction adit for carrying out the prediction experiment of advanced detection,so as to make strengthened support and advanced support for the predicted locations with more concentrated rock stress.From the aspect of the implementation effect,total 17 prediction reports of the micro-seismic monitoring are issued,in which 4 light rock bursts and 4 moderate rock bursts are accurately predicted with the accuracy rate of about 50%.Through the intensified detection,the accuracy rate can reach to 71%,and then the occurrences of safety accident can be largely decreased.Through blasting,the stress of the excavation face can be released and eliminated.If it is implemented with the advanced support and later-stage strengthened support,a certain prevention effect can be obtained,but a certain risk is also there.From the point of view of the in situ actual implementation,the measures of prediction,prevention and strengthened support can improve the stress distribution inside of rock mass to a certain extent,and make it readjusted after excavation.However,this method is only suitable for drill-blasting construction,but it is difficult to make a relevant prevention on the TBM excavation face,as no any methods for advanced stress releasing and advance supporting are there to be found out at present.
