Use of overhead condensation heat of xylene column in aromatic plant for organic Rankine cycle low-temperature cogeneration

Abstract
A new method of recovering overhead condensation heat of a xylene column in an aromatic plant was studied,i.e.,recovering and converting the overhead condensation heat of the xylene column into electric energy by using the organic Rankine cycle(ORC) low-temperature cogeneration technology. Simulation analysis on this recovery method was carried out with Aspen Plus software,providing a selection scheme of an organic working fluid for a low-temperature cogeneration system and operation parameters. The simulation results showed that the working fluid suitable for the ORC cogeneration system was n-pentane,and under the operating conditions of an evaporation temperature of 125 ℃ and a condensing temperature of 45 ℃,the net output power was 3.23 MW and the generating efficiency was 11.4%. The ORC cogeneration system is large in generating capacity and high in efficiency with production feasibility.关键词
