摘要

Abstract

As the interrupt equipment in DC line,HVDC circuit breaker (CB) is the key point to break the fault current and ensure the safety of DC grid.This paper firstly analyzed and compared the topological structure of the current HVDC CB.Then,a new HVDC CB based on the technology of silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) in series connection is presented,and the topological structure,working principle and characteristics are introduced in details.The interruption performance of this new CB under different levels of fault current and parameters which affect its performance by PSCAD software are simulated.At last,the real model of this new HVDC CB in the lab is built and the interruption experiment is conducted by using dSPACE platform.Simulation and experimental results have shown that this new HVDC CB is capable of breaking and recovering the current quickly with the advantages of low on-state loss and powerful current transporting capability.Therefore,this new HVDC CB can be used in real DC grid.
