摘要

Abstract

In order to improve the strategy of studying gene structures and mining new genes in Wuzhishan pig, transcriptome analysis of longissimus dorsi was performed at their 6– and 8–month age using high–throughput RNA sequencing. 65 683 578 and 65 464 156 clean reads were obtained for 6– and 8 month age pig respectively, of which, 20 102 and 25 719 transcripts were confirmed. Using sequence alignment in different database after function annotations, 18 206 and 18 374 genes were found out, 687 and 737 new transcripts were predicted. The new predicted alternative splices were 28 670 and 32 940 respectively. The IR model for 6 month pig was larger while the SE shear model of 8–month pig was dominant. In addition, we anlyzed all gene structures. In conclusion, Wuzhishan pig genes have extensions and many plausible novel genes exist.
