Kinetics of ε→γ Isothermal Phase Transition of CL-20

Abstract
To investigate the law of crystal phase transition polymorphic explosive CL-20,the kinetics of ε→γ phase transition of CL-20 was isothermally studied by an in-situ infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.The phase conversion extent was characterized by the decrease of IR characteristic peak intensity of ε-CL-20.The kinetic parameters of isothermal phase transition were obtained by using Avrami-Erofeev equation to describe the conversion extent -time curves of e→γ phase transition of CL-20 at four temperatures of 160,165,170 and 175℃.The results show that:taking the conversion extent 18% as a turning point,the phase transition process can be divided into two stages which follow different kinetic mechanism function respectively.When the range of the conversion extent is 1%-18 %,the phase transition mechanism follows Avrami-Erofeev equation with random nucleation and growth (n =0.60-0.76) while the activation energy Ea is 150.6 kJ/mol and the calculated pre-exponential constant ln(A/s-1) is 38.1;When the range of the conversion extent is 18%-94%,the phase transition mechanism follows Avrami-Erofeev equation with random nucleation and growth (n=1.18-1.25) while the activation energy Ea is 289.4 kJ/mol and the calculated pre-exponential constant ln(A/s-1) is 74.7.关键词
