Abstract

A rapid and accurate method to determine β-cypermethrin residue in soil was established.Samples were extracted ultrasonically with acetonitrile,purified by dispersive solid phase extraction using PSA and C18 as adsorbents.The analyte was separated by a heated HP-5 capillary column,determined by GC/ECD and then quantified by matrix-matched external standard method.In the range of 0.02-1.0 mg/L,the peak area of β-cypermethrin was linearly related to its concentration,with correlation coefficient higher than 0.9930.The limit of detection and quantification for β-cypermethrin in soil was 0.003 mg/kg and 0.02 mg/kg,respectively.The mean recovery rate was 83.8%-100.6% with relative standard deviations of 3.7%-9.8%.The method was simple,accurate,solvent saving,no special instrument required and easy to master.It was shown to be a suitable method for determination of β-cypermethrin residue in soil.
