Abstract
Objective:To examine the relationship between reflective function and Borderline personality disorder (BPD) traits,and to explore the mediating role of alexithymia in the relation between reflective function and BPD traits among counseling patients.Methods:206 counseling patients completed the Chinese Version of Reflective Function Questionnaire(RFQ-C),the McLean Screening Instrument for Borderline Personality Disorder(MSI-BPD) and 20-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale(TAS-20).Results:①Patients with BPD traits had significantly lower total scores of RFQ than patients without BPD traits.Reflective function was negatively correlated with BPD traits(r=-0.300,P＜0.01);②The relation between reflective function and BPD traits was partially mediated by alexithymia,accounting for 40.3％ of the reflective function to BPD traits.Conclusion:This study confirms previous studies indicating impairments of reflective function in patients with BPD traits and support the notion that reflective function exerts its influence on BPD traits through the mediating role of alexithymia.关键词
