Abstract
[Objective]The research aimed to make a scientific assessment of the ecological benefits of the public welfare forests.[Method]181 long-term monitoring plots had been established in the public forest area of Jingning County,and vegetation investigation and related special in-vestigation had been conducted.The characteristics of community types such as forest types,tree species composition,number of stumpage,mean diameter at breast height(DBH), biomass,and biodiversity index of public welfare forest in Jingning County were analyzed,and the ecological benefit value of public welfare forest was calculated.[Result]The ecological benefits of public welfare forests in Jingning County had a high growth potential.With the passage of time,public welfare forests in Jingning County had better ecosystem service functions in terms of water con-servation,soil reinforcement and fertility maintenance,and carbon fixation and oxygen release.It was estimated that the ecological benefit value of the key public welfare forests in Jingning County in 2016 was 9.352 billion yuan.[Conclusion]The study provides a scientific basis for the ecolog-ical benefits of public welfare forests and the evaluation of ecological public welfare forest construction effectiveness.关键词
