An Improved Energy Flow Calculation Method for Integrated Electricity and Natural Gas System

Abstract
There is strong interaction between electric power system and natural gas system within the framework of integrated energy system,and the combined energy flow analysis is thus increasingly appreciated.Most of the existing energy flow calculation methods are based on Newton method,which is quite sensitive to initial values,while the methods for gas flow initialization are not fully studied.Moreover,the interaction characteristics between electric power system and natural gas system are also not thoroughly discussed.This paper improves the existing studies both on energy flow calculation method and interaction analysis.A hybrid method,which utilizes the global search ability of genetic algorithm (GA) and local search ability of Newton method,is proposed to solve the integrated energy flow problem.In addition,considering both gas-fired generation and power-to-gas (P2G) units,two operation modes (i.e.,gas-orientated mode and electricity-orientated mode) of the integrated system are proposed and analyzed.The validity of the improved method is verified with a 14-node natural gas system and an integrated electricity-gas system composed of the IEEE-57 system and the 14-node gas natural system.关键词
