Abstract
Objective To establish an in vivo animal model of artificial atlanto-odontoid joint arthroplasty,explore suitable surgical methods and lay a theoretical foundation for subsequent clinical application.Methods The unconstrained artificial atlanto-odontoid joint for canines were designed and manufactured based on the anatomical data of 15 sets of normal atlantoaxial dry specimens from canines.18 healthy adult male mongrel canines were randomly divided into three groups:normal control group,prosthesis replacement group and Harms plate fusion fixation group.The operative time,blood loss,surgical complications,and postoperative recovery of experimental animals was compared by general observation and imaging examinations after surgery.Results Artificial atlanto-odontoid joint was easy to operate and does not cause side injury.Postoperative radiographs and three-dimensional CT showed that the prosthesis was in the correct position.The screws were located in the pre-designed screw passages,and there was no loosening of the prosthesis and compression of the spinal cord.The operative time,intraoperative blood loss and surgical recovery time were similar to those of Harms plate fusion and internal fixation group,and they also had significant advantages in preserving movement of the atlantoaxial complex.Conclusion The unconstrained artificial atlanto-odontoid joint prosthesis designed by us can be bionic on the atlantoaxial in terms of structure and function,achieving the dual purpose ofbalancing the stability and movement function of the atlantoaxial.This technique provides an option for surgical treatment ofatlantoaxial disorders,in line with the development trend of the cervical spine non-fusion technology.关键词
