Permian Shale Gas Reservoir Characterization and Favorable Area Identification in Junggar Basin

Abstract
In order to understanding the Permian shale distribution and shale reservoir properties and identify favor-able areas in Junggar Basin,conventional hydrocarbon well logging lithology identification experiment data and doc-ument literature are used to analyze the shale gas reservoir distribution area,burial depth,cumulative thickness;brittle-mineral content,porosity,permeability,TOC,Ro,gas generation level and other parameters. Considering the latest shale gas reservoir evaluation findings,the commercial shale gas development data of areas at home and a-broad are compared to identify two favorable areas in the basin,including the Mahu Depression in northwestern ba-sin to western depression of Well Pen1 and the Fukang Depression to Beisantai slope. According to the shale gas reservoir properties and the favorable area identification principle of"bucket cask effect,compensation effect,risk minimization and benefit maximization",the Mahu Depression to western depression of Well Pen1 is considered as the most favorable area,followed by the Fukang Depression to Beisantai slope. This research could provide certain guidance for the further exploration and development of Permian shale gas in Junggar Basin.关键词
