Analysis of effects of motor imagery training combined with aerobatic training on the functional recovery of lower limbs in patients with hemiplegia after stroke

Abstract
Objective To analyze the effects of motor imagery training (MIT) combined with aerobatic training on the functional recovery of lower limbs in patients with hemiplegia after stroke. Method A total of 77 patients with hemiplegia after stroke were enrolled in this study, and they were divided into observation group (39 cases) and control group (38 cases) in random. Patients of the two groups all took regular recovery training and aerobatic bicycle training, on the basis of above measure, observation group patients took motor imagery training as well. Before rehabilitation therapy and 1 and 3 months after rehabilitation therapy, patients'condition was estimated: muscle strength of lower limbs was measured by dynamometer, motor function of lower limbs was evaluated by Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA); balance function was evaluated by Berg Balance scale (BBS); time required to walk 10 meters was recorded and average gait speed was calculated. Result Compared with before the rehabilitation therapy, the muscle strength of lower limbs of the two groups were significantly improved (P<0.05), the scores of FMA and BBS were significantly increased (P < 0.05) and the gait speed was faster (P < 0.05). Compared with 1 month after the rehabilitation therapy, the muscle strength of lower limbs of the two groups 3 months after the rehabilitation therapy were significantly improved (P < 0.05), the scores of FMA and BBS were significantly increased (P < 0.05), and the gait speed was faster (P < 0.05). Compared with control group, the muscle strength of lower limbs 1 month and 3 months after the rehabilitation therapy in observation group were significantly improved (P<0.05), the scores of FMA and BBS were significantly increased (P<0.05) and the gait speed was faster (P<0.05). Conclusion Motor imagery training combined with regular recovery training and aerobatic training can effectively improve the recovery of muscle strength, balance ability, and motor function of patients with hemiplegia after stroke.关键词
