摘要

Abstract

A new compact antipodal Vivaldi antenna is proposed based on traditional antenna.Corrugated edge,open eyes and director are employed to broaden the bandwidth,and the effectiveness of these structures to the bandwidth is demonstrated.The corrugated open-eyes antipodal Vivaldi antenna with director is fabricated on substrates FR-4 and RO4003C,and the measured results match well with the simulated ones by using HFSS.The results show that the antennas can be operated from 3 GHz to 20 GHz,while the dimension is 42.56 mm×40.16 mm×0.813 mm,and the return loss is less than-10 dB.As the gain of the wide-beam antenna is larger than 3 dBi which reaches 7.3 dBi to the maximum,the level of cross-polarization is less than-15 dB,in which more than 50% is below-20 dB and the mininum value is -25 dB.The radiation patterns of this wide beam antenna are proved to be stable with high waveform fidelity.
