The Binding and Extraction of Meaningful Objects with Multi-Feature in Working Memory

Abstract
Two-factor within-subjects design was adopted to study the influences of object feature number,object quantity and extraction contents on the recognition performance.Referring to the cockpit display symbols,a meaningful object with multi-features was designed,its representation form in working memory was investigated,and its influences on the performance of single feature extraction were also explored.The results showed that object feature number had positive influence on the accuracy and time of integral recognition,meanwhile,had negative influence on the accuracy and time of feature recognition.The object number had lesser negative influence on the accuracy and time of integral recognition,but had more seriously negative influence on the accuracy and time of feature recognition.It was concluded that meaningful multi-features objects was stored in the working memory in the form of integral representation,the feature relations were also stored,and the extraction of single feature needed to occupy certain amount of cognitive resources.关键词
