Progress in transition models for cross-flow instabilities

Abstract
The development of transition models for cross-flow effects is reviewed in this paper.First,the commonly used criteria for cross-flow instability induced transition are classified and summarized.The original ideas and characteristics of these transition criteria are analyzed,including cross-flow Reynolds number,Kohama parameter,Helicity parameter and cross-flow strength H flow,and the related research works are reviewed.Then,a variety of cross-flow transition models based on the transition criteria are introduced.Details about the constructing form and the coupling method of each transition model are given,and their advantages and limitations are also discussed.Finally,the future challenges of the transition models for cross flow instabilities are discussed.It is suggested that efforts should be focused on universalization of cross-flow transition models,localizing the cross-flow criteria and cross-flow transition models and developing crossflow models for hypersonic flows.关键词
