摘要

Abstract

The current study was conducted to investigatethe effects of xylo-oligosaccharide (XOS) on the growth performance,serum biochemical,immunological indexes and fecal bacterial community in fattening pigs.A total of 96 crossbred pigs (Duroc × Landrace × Large White) with body mass of 70.0±3.1 kg were randomly divided into 4 groups with 4 replicates of 6 pigs each and fed a basal diet supplemented with 0 (control),100,200,400 mg/kg XOS,respectively.The whole trial period lasted for 47 dincluding a-7 dpre-test and a-40 dtest.The results showed that the diet added XOS did not affect daily gain and feed to gain ratio (P>0.05).Compared with the control group,diets added XOS increased significantly glutathione peroxidase activity in serum at 20 d (P<0.05).Superoxide dismutase activity was enhanced by diet added 100 mg/kg XOS at 20 and 40 d and 400 mg/kg XOS at20 d (P<0.05),but,malondialdehydecontentswere markedly decreased by addition of 200、400 mg/kg at 20 d and 100、200 mg/kg at 40 d (P<0.05),respectively;400 mg/kgXOS supplementation significantly reduced the content of albumin,urea nitrogen and glucose,however,increased globulin contentin serum (P<0.05);XOS inclusion at 200 mg/kg reduced glucose content at 20 d and urea nitrogen and triglyceridecontent at 40 d in serum (P<0.05);XOS supplementation increasedremarkablyserum immunoglobulin Gcontent at 20 d,XOS inclusion 400 or 100 mg/kg enhanced significantly immunoglobulin A level in serum at 20 d or 40 d (P<0.05),respectively.In addition,XOS supplementation 200 mg/kg significantly increased the amount of total bacteria and Lactobacilli (P<0.05),and 200 and 400 mg/kg reduced the number of Escherichia coli (P<0.05) in feces.The results indicated that dietary XOS supplementationcould improve the antioxidant and immunecapacities of pigs,increasethe number of beneficial bacteria,and reduce the number of E.coliin feces.
