Relationship between NLRP3 Inflammasome and Chronic Complications of Diabetes and Therapeutic Effects of Chinese Herbal Medicine

Abstract
NLRP3 inflammasome is a pattern recognition receptor that regulates the maturation and secretion of proinflammatory cytokines including interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-18 by activating the cysteine-containing aspartic acid protease and thus induces inflammatory response.Mtabolic stress including hyperglycemia,high blood free fatty acids,and hyperuricemia can activate NLRP3 inflammasome.Thus,NLRP3 inflammasome has became a new target in the treatment of diabetes and its chronic complications.This article reviews the relationship between NLRP3 inflammasome and chronic complications of diabetes and the therapeutic effects of Chinese herbal medicine.关键词
