Expression and correlation of autophagy-related protein 16 like protein 1 and galectin-9 in patients with inflammatory bowel disease

Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and correlation of autophagy related protein 16 like protein 1 (ATG16L 1)and galactin-9(galectin-9)in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.Methods Fifty patients with in-flammatory bowel disease were selected as the observation group and 40 patients with gastrointestinal discomfort who needed the physical examination were taken as the control group.The expression levels of ATG16L1 and galectin-9 in the serum and intestinal epithelium were detected by ELISA,Western blotting,and RT-PCR,respectively,and the correlation among them was analyzed.Results The expression of ATG16L1,galectin-9 in the serum,and the mRNA and protein expression of ATG16L1and galectin-9 in the intestinal epithelium of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05).The expression of ATG16L1 and galectin-9 were negatively correlated with the occurrence of inflammatory bowel disease(r=-0.381,-0.401,P<0.05).The expression of ATG16L1 and galectin-9, ATG16L1 and ATG16L1 in the intestinal epithelium were positively correlated(r=0.411,0.382;all P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between the expression of serum ATG16L1 and galectin-9 in the inflammatory bowel disease(r=0.281, P<0.05).The expression of serum galectin-9 was positively correlated with galectin-9 in the intestinal epithelium of inflammatory bowel disease(r=0.403,P<0.05).Conclusion The expression of ATG16L1 and galectin-9 in the serum and intestinal epi-thelium of patients with inflammatory bowel disease is significantly down-regulated, and there is a positive correlation be-tween the expression of ATG16L1 and galectin-9 in the serum and intestinal tissues.关键词
