Cyclic process for leaching manganese by sulfation roasting of manganese oxide ore

摘要

Abstract

In order to reduce the treatment cost of manganese oxide ore and utilize waste acid from electrolysis process of manganese effectively, sulfation roasting and leaching experiments of manganese ore were carried out using cyclic process of ammonium sulfate. The results show that sodium sulfate plays a positive role in promoting sulfation roasting of manganese oxide ore and decomposition of ammonium sulfate. When roasting temperature reaches 550 ℃, leaching rate of manganese is high and it is very difficult to convert Ferric oxide into soluble Ferrous sulfate, resulting in low content of iron in leaching solution and good selective leaching result of manganese. Under appropriate sulfation roasting and leaching conditions, leaching rate of manganese and recovery of NH4+ and SO42- reaches 89.93%, 98.62% and 88.22% respectively.
